Dear SWS Alliance Partners,

We have now received further information from Microsoft on setting up Consent Mode via Google Tag Manager!

Microsoft explains the setup using three common examples. Among other things, Microsoft Consent Mode can also be manually connected to the consent signals of Google Consent Mode if it is already active.

This variant is the quickest and easiest to implement.

The original instructions from the Microsoft development team can be found in English in our Help Center or in the appendix below.

Our Head of Academy Alex has also provided a short German guide on how to connect to Google Consent Mode.

He also brings another variant of integration into play, which can also be implemented quickly and easily if consent triggers are already present in the tag manager. This variant does not require all tags to be adjusted individually and has already solved the problem for one of our customers. However, this is an implementation that has not yet been verified by Microsoft.
